Bought me a Cooper!

I've bought a black Mini Cooper, and I just love it to death. It is too cool. From the vent in the glovebox to keep food and drink cool, to the sunroof that stretches across the whole car, to the built in tool and first aid kits. Heck, it just goes on, push button start, automatic transmission that can shift with shifters (if you want to go manual) on the wheel and adjustable ambiant lighting for different colors in the car. I highly recommend a Mini. Plus, it just looks too cool!

I trying to think of a name for her. Any ideas?
I'm thinking Wednesday, kinda like Wednesday Adams, what with all the black.

I don't really know the details of the dog art, but I'm guessing they are stuffed. Yeah, it's really rather weird, but it's also a bit cool. Weird dog art.

I thought this one was pretty darn cool. USB batteries, rechargable through your USB port. The worst part about having rechargable batteries is lugging the charger around. With this, you have more options. USB Batteries.

Check it out, this guy is a pro at card stacking. Unfortunately you don't get to see him work, but his results are cool. I was highly impressed. Card Stacking Pro.

Update on the Linux front. After formatting two drives, Windows is working. The formats were half for cleaning anyway. Everything was backed up completely and everything was restored.

Check it out, it's a self playing violin. I know, I know, it's not as good as a real symphony, but I thought it was cool from a technical point of view. Self Playing violin.

Computer broken....... Using Kororaa Linux, Its definately eye candy. But for some unknown reason, it's gone to Hell. I tried installing it on a second hard drive , but now it can't boot from either hard drive. Very..... Annoying...
Meh, I hate when this stuff happens...
On the plus side, I'm operating off a kororaa linux boot disc at the moment. Gah, I hate when this happens. Every time I try to load Linux! Every time! Gah! So, I'm going to drive 3 hours to get another disc... No job means I can do things impulsive I guess, but I ain't spending 100s of bucks to get windows, when I can get it for 30...
The whole situation stinks.

Have you ever thought, hey, ya know what might be a good movie, Gangsters vs Zombies in a booze smuggling shoot em up? Well, this little animation is pretty cool, it's a trailer for it, although I don't know much else. It's a little PG-13, so if you are averse to Zombies getting re-killed, might take a step back.Zombies vs Gangsters.

Futurama Comic Books, Mini Coopers and Personal Junk

I am one of the many die hard fans of Futurama. It used to be that Family Guy and Futurama were neck and neck in my book, but Futurama has somehow maintained its staying power. When I saw this I thought how cool it would be. I'm not really a comic nut, but for Futurama, I'll convert. Futurama Comics.

I love Mini Coopers. Made by BMW, this is my dream car. It's not expensive, it's got good gas milage and frankly, they look unique without being outrageous. Well anyway, when I saw this I was instantly in love. Yes, it's just a concept, but still... What I wouldn't give for one of them... PML Mini goes from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, uses four electric motors.

Personal stuff: 1)I learned I have Hypothyroidism. (No biggy, a pill a day every day till I die of old age.) 2)I am sick as a dog thanks to allergies. 3)Apparently I have elevated liver enzymes, which is unrelated to the first two, meaning I either have gall stones, hepatitus(although I can't imagine when I'd have gotten it. I'm a straight shooter and I got my hep shot a couple years ago.) liver cancer(I HIGHLY doubt it), or cirrhosis of the liver(I don't drink, not reasonable).

Oh fate, how ye mocks me. But. Ain't nothing going to break my stride, ain't nothing gunna slow me down.

If your like me, you've been watching a movie and realized that it should have ended 20 minutes before it did. Well, this site is chocked full of hillarious alternate endings. If you have been out of the loop for a while, the world has in fact been spinning... But when I say spinning, lets say, Will Wright, maker of The Sims 1 and 2, Sim City, Sim Earth, Sim Ant, Sim City 2000/3000, Sim Tower, Sim Earth etc etc has been working on his masterpiece. Something that is homage to his previous works, while being absolutely and completely 100% new. I can tell you what it's about, but it's better to let Will Wright tell you. Check out this link. Okay, but lets save you some time. This is what makes the game unlike anything you've ever seen before. I'd list, but I think it'll flow better ranting. Have you ever wanted to play the universe game. You make create and populate an entire universe, but it's way more cool than that. I am at a loss for words. I can't describe it well enough. But you build an populate the universe from bacteria to universal conquest or peace.
The entire universe is populated from other peoples content! It has a built in content creation platform that gives the user the opportunity to populate the world! From plants, planes, to the creatures of the universe, users make it! It uploads to a server then distrubutes, populating, not only your world, but other planets, which you can work your way to visiting! It's not just civilization, or just sim city, or just the sims... It's all of that, and more. All put into one game. I say again, I cannot do this justice by stating it's features. Please, check out the links.

Today I bring you a short mini movie. I really enjoyed it. While I was watching it, I was hoping it was merely a trailer, but alas, no. It's a short about alien robots landing on earth for a safari! The Burning Safari.

Next I bring you, what is going to be the coolest game, next to Spore, that I have seen in a long time... I'll explain Spore later. But honestly, I've never seen a game better than Spore. Anyway, Portal! Made by Valve, makers of Half Life and Counter-Strike have made another unbelievably awesome game. This link is to the trailer. It's slow at first, but give it a few seconds, you'll be drooling by the end.

I love strategy games like this. This is my kinda game right here. Warbears! I know there is another game out there like this, but I can't remember the name. Anywho, Warbears!

Lastly, I signed up with Blog Mad. I really like it so far. It seems like it has a lot cooler sites than the more boring browsing sites.

Okay, after way too long of posting, I have finally stopped that stupid game. I have run that MMORPG into the ground like any other MMORPG. When you are running Blackwing Lair, you know you need to do something constructive with your time. Door of Tommorow, Carbonated Ice Cream, and the Robosapien Mark 2

What your loooking at, is the door of tommorow!. Pretty cool eh? It uses sensors and such. Fairly amazing. New Age Door Anyway, theres plenty of news. Classes started and it turns out I have one from Hell. Yall have been there, so I won't go into detail. Needless to say, my posts will be bigger, better, and farther in between.
In other cool news from the web, it turns out the clever MIT folks have created carbonated ice cream. Yes, thats right! I cannot wait! Carbonated Ice Cream
Yes, there is more awesome news. Yall remember that really cool robot toy from a while back? The robosapien? It was cool, but limited in movement and such... Well, the Robosapien Mark 2, is going to blow you all away. Get this. For $100-200, this robot has twice the movement of the original, has sensors in the eyes and can recognize faces. It can also recognize human voice. This robot can see a red object and pick it up. It'll even follow the red object as it moves around. On top of that, it will watch tv with you! It's favorite show is the Simpsons because of the blue and yellow. Cool huh? :-) Robosapien Mark 2

Back to School, Hitchhikers Game and Star Wars the TV Show

Oh, I've been lazy. School just started and I've been distracted by all the shiny colors. I moved back into the unairconditioned dorms and this year, I can't get used to it... Once you've been in the new dorms for any length of time, you quickly realize your getting screwed. The food in this low-end hall is terrible... Terrible, but I have to eat. It has completely killed my diet. Just murdered it. There isn't any healthy food here. There are sandwiches, but other than that... Of course there is another option, but it involves walking across campus. The reason this food is so much better is because it's a girls dorm. After inquiring about this, the four kitchen staff there explained it was because girls are picky and complain (Their words, not mine. From 2 guys & 2 girls). Fairly interesting, but a bit disturbing.
Another strange but true from the dork front. It seems that Star Wars, The TV Show, is green lit. For those of us who felt screwed by episodes 1-3, this is a major blow to out sanity. Here's the bad news... *Click*

Hey everyone. I know it's been a while since I last posted, but I've been out and about. I've been watching the X Games on ESPN and getting ready to head back to school. What I'm bringing you today is an itty bitty mp3 player. I'm highly impressed. It looks awesome. And strangely enough, it's brought to you by Walmart. I know it's no IPod, but for it's incredibly small size I can't help but drool. The prices start at $99 for the 512 meg version and $129 for the 1 gig. *Click Here*
As far as my diet goes, I've lost 11 lbs, but it's stalled out. At least it's staying put and not going up. I guess if I exercise it'll probably go down, but 11 lbs from sitting around watching tv ain't bad.

Once again in other news. The diet goes on, I've lost 7.5lbs now. So I'm happy. I guess that ear staple thingy works... Not that it was completely responsible. I've had to slap my own hand a few times... Stupid brain is so persistant.. Some weirder effects have occured now too. I feel lighter, more focused and time moves slower now. Which of course makes me very bored.

I don't have the article on hand, but I remember there was this directional sound speaker. Basically it focuses a sound wave in a specific direction only. And people outside the direction of the sound wave, don't hear anything. Amazing really, I wish I had the link. But that would be perfect for this. Build your own traveling Wi-Fi wireless hotspot. This is pretty sweet. I've been toying with the web browser on my PSP(using Wipeout Pure). It's pretty cool. I love being able to walk around with it. The problem, of course, is that it only works when I'm in the vacinity of a wireless router. Good thing I bought one I spose. This has been a lot of fun.
I've been playing with this web browser so much that I havn't been at my computer to blog easily. I swear, the PSP is probably the best thing ever. A lot of yall DS fans, have a fun little toy, but the PSP has become indispensable. I have emulators, roms, a web browser, and MP3s on it. I can play television shows(recorded from my TV card on my computer) or movies on my psp or just play a good old fashioned PSP game. It's with me while I drive down the road(MP3s) and I can take it out to the back yard to surf the web.
But heres the real kicker. I put my Tae Bo workout on the PSP, so I can workout where ever I am. I often have this problem of quitting what ever exercise schedule I have whenever I go on vacation.
On top of everything there are new innovations with the homebrew PSP applications coming out every day. Also, I'm finding new things to do with it every day. Just today, I put an episode of Scrapped Princess(anime) on my PSP and watched it while in the tub.

I'm annoyed a bit. My parents got back from San Fransisco with my phone. I was psyched. They brought chocolate and t-shirts. However, it turns out the picture server thing is down. Today I have for yall a pair of swimming goggles with a heads up display. It counts laps and has a built in stop watch. Not to mention, they look pretty cool. Kinda like an IPod, with blue lenses. I'm not a big swimmer myself, but those do look pretty handy. They were invented to keep swimmers from having to count laps. I just wonder if they can see those numbers in front of thier eyes. My friends came in and we went to go see Batman Begins. Honestly, it's the best Batman movie I've ever seen. It made me realize that there was WAY too much neon in the other Batman movies. The new Batman creation is more down to Earth. I didn't realize how poorly the previous ones were done until I saw Batman Begins. And if the rumors are true, the next Batman movies will be done by the same guy. If that's true, I can't wait to see them.

In other news, I built one of those AC setups from the previous post. It's pretty sloppy, but I think it will work. It should be helpful during the first few weeks we are moving in to our unairconditioned dorm. I made some changes to it tho. I had to be able to recycle the water, so I bought a pump. Strangely enough, it wasn't that easy. The pump wasn't compatable with the tubes I was using, so we improvised :-) I got a bottle and stuck it over the water pump. I then cut a hole in the side and stuck my tube in. It actually worked. There is enough pressure to send the water through the tube and the rest of the water is fed back out the way it came since the bottle is not sealed around the pump. Really, it's a true MacGuiverism. I'll take some pictures later, but right now my camera phone is in San Fransisco of all places... And man does it hurt. I realize now that it's gone that it is my Clock, Alarm Clock, Phone, Camera, Address Book, Entertainment Center, Emergency Life Saver, Instant Messaging Service and I'm sure something else direly important thats on the tip of my tounge. But I've missed every one of these features today. Not because of any major occurance, but because I'm constantly apprehensive. Remind me to never lend out my phone again...

I saw this a while back and I have really wanted to make it, except I just plain don't have the money... But I think I may do it anyway. I live in an unairconditioned dorm while I'm at school. Can yall imagine that? Yeah, hot... Texas without AC. Do yall know that Twilight Zone episode called the Hottest Day Ever?(or something like that), well thats about right. In our dorm, they found it necessary to not only keep it unairconditioned, but make it against the rules to bring in a window unit. Because of that, this may be a suitable option... *Click Here*

It is somewhat inspiring to see a 2000 year old seed from an extinct plant take root. They say that it's possible if they can continue reviving extinct plants, we may have a better chance of curing existing diseases. It's a very interesting idea. Of course, this was a one in a million long shot, but it paid off. I wonder if they can use this one plant to make others or if its line is going to be lost forever once it dies...

I was considering writing some garbage about Michael Jackson, but I realized, I didn't care. In fact, I really don't like posting news about how our society is going down the tube or some criminal getting off free. To be honest, that stuff is depressing.
I don't pretend to be immune to the bad parts of the world, but you all saw the reports. Not guilty. No use going into the details, it's over.
You realize you've played too many video games when you've broken down all movies, scenes and occurances in life to binary. They survive, or don't. They accomplish the mission, or not. Either 1, or 0. And if I have to take a freaking key from Town X to Dungeon Y, one more time...
When it comes down to these big cases, it doesn't matter what I think. I won't sway anyone. What good would come of it if I did? If I get upset and angry then rant to everyone else about it, they'll get upset and mad too. And for what? What good does upsetting people and creating internalized rage do? This isn't some cause that you can stand up for. It's just something that is out of all our hands. I think I realized this most during the last election. Both sides were completely blinded. I was raging against Kerry. So much so that I didn't see Bush. I'm sure it was the exact opposite on the coasts. I then realized that CNN and other news services are so biased, I can't even trust them anymore.
Fight you say? It's good to know where you stand! If it was about war, poverty or issues with death I would voice my opinion. (but not here, cause thats not what this blog is about).
Well, that was definately a rant. I dont think I swayed anyone, but mabee I stopped you for a minute or two. Just enough to stop you from being hit by that... Oh, nm.

Local Transplant Centers Offering Imperfect Organs

It seems that certain transplant centers are offering less than perfect organs as an alternative to waiting up to 6 years for a new organ. I believe they are dealing solely with kidneys right now. Let me give you details. 33 volunteers have chosen to get organs from people over 50y/o or that had certain risk factors to thier kidneys.
The key here is, these people would have to go on dialysis if they didn't have the operation. I think this is in general a good idea. Similarly, I always wondered why AIDs patients aren't all taking the safe experimental treatments if it means that they will live. There are certainly plenty to go around. Of course it's a risk to the patients, but less of a risk than certain death.
On the other hand, I'm not sure this is a great step forward for society. The credo of all medical doctors is, "First, do no harm". This is a bit of a stretch in that area. The reason they didn't use those organs in the first place is because they are a bit of a risk. Of course this is also why people aren't taking tons of experimental medicine as well. I guess thats a good thing what with mutating viruses and such.
I hope this helps those 33 volunteers and eventually helps more. I just hope they take extra care when dealing with those less than perfect organs.

This is a pretty straightforward story. As a senior prank these students painted an elaborate mural on the ceiling of the main lobby of the school. The principal saw it and thought it was an art project. Once he found out that it wasn't, he decided it was too nice to get rid of. I like this story because it shows that the principal in this school has an open mind. So many times the principal would just throw this kid in Juvi or whatever and never even open his eyes enough to look at the picture. Perhaps the schools aren't really so messed up afterall.

Have yall heard about Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith? It's the first Star Wars to get a PG-13 Rating instead of a PG rating. Supposedly, it's one of the more gory and bloody Star Wars. What with all the Jedi being wiped from the land(it's in episode 4, so it's not a spoiler), Darth Vader rising and the Empire growing. I think some are upset about the PG-13 rating. I don't have an opinion. I think kids should be able to see Star Wars, but at the same time, if they kept going the kiddy route, with Jar Jar and stuff, they were going to lose thier entire fanbase. Now, it seems that Jar Jar is BARELY in it :-) Thank goodness.

Yep, went to go see it... And I brought my towel! It was excellent! I really really enjoyed it. It was simply! Too short... 2 hours long, and it was too short. It felt rushed! Really, it was excellent! It's obvious they didn't have enough room for all the jokes and had to cut it down, but they did a really good job. Actually, I can barely remember any of it... It's like a dream... I watched the whole thing and was laughing the whole time, but damned if I can remember any of it! This may be confounding logic, but it's so good I can't remember a thing about it... Except mabee one thing... Trillian and Arthur had some relationship thing going, which wasn't in the book, but hey, it's Douglas Adams movie and if thats what he wants, it's what he wants! I highly suggest going to see it. It's really very good, and besides the 10 of us who went to see it together(all with towels) no other giant dorks were there. So I promise yall won't feel too weird. :-)

One of my favorite paintings may be gone forever... I hope this is incorrect. The source is a little funny, so don't take this to heart. It's a local newspaper citing "secret reports" about thier destruction in order to get rid of damning evidence as the police investigation closes in on the culprits of a robbery. I hope this isn't true... What kind of jerk would do such a thing...

This is thier third attempt! It didn't work before and it won't work now. The House of Representatives voted 422 to 6 to move forward on it. Well, thats all well and good, but nobody wants them. NOBODY WANTS THEM. When trying to give out those stupid Sacagawea coins, people were often confused and pissed off thinking you were cheating them. When it wasn't that, it was people wanting to get the bills instead. The coke machines ate them and small businesses wouldn't take them. It's just a waste of time... Putting all that aside, the coins are bulky and heavy. Toating a pocket full of those, or even two, make your pockets stick out.
I know that financially this is a good move. The coins are more durable and thier cost/benefit ratio is high. Thats never been the problem...

Yeah, really... They slowed down the mice's heart rate down to 1/12 it's normal rate (BBC). I dont think this is all that amazing, but it's a first step toward our eventual space exodus so I thought I'd post it.
Just finished Midori no Hibi. I would highly recommend it. This was a welcome relief from the garbage that's been coming out. A very relaxing, funny and stressful anime... Try not to correct me on that point :-)
On a more awesome note... If you've been keeping up, the first reviewers of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy dogged it, but now... The new reviewers are saying, "What the Hell?!" Because it was truely that awesome. Douglas Adams brother himself said "the only thing un-Douglas about this movie, was it was finished on time". That's incredibly good news for me because I need a really good movie to come out desperately. I'm such a huge fan of Hitchhikers that I would be freaked out if they screwed it up. And yes, I'll be bringing my towel opening night. Yall should too.

Yeah, it kinda sucks... I thought it would be hillarious just like Shaolin Soccer. I'm really dissapointed. You see, it starts off all depressing, then it gets funny until about half way through... Then it stops being funny. I really wanted this to be good, but eh... It really did suck. They seemed very confused about what they were going for. I was expecting a comedy, but all I got was generic kung fu movie number 6,000,012. :(
